Anything Else.... Really??

So Natalie has been having accidents since she was 3 (after she became fully potty trained) they started really out of no where and haven't stopped since. Well her Pediatrician sent us to the hospital in Louisville to get some test run to see if it was behavioral or medical.
Long story short she had a vguc, x-rays and abdominal ultrasounds that lead to the conclusion that she does have bladder reflux meaning her urine goes back up to her kidneys as soon as it becomes full. and when she does go potty she is full again from the urine coming back down, thus causing accidents. If her urine gets an infection such as a bladder infection or UTI and the urine goes up to her kidneys she could get a kidney infection causing kidney failure.
After our Pediatrician got the results he also noticed that her "plumbing" as he called it may not be right and THAT is what is causing her accidents b/c her tubing leads to the wrong places... GREAT.... sigh. There are more tests being done next month and they keep talking about possible surgery to fix it.
As if this poor child didn't have enough wrong with her lets throw this in the group.
Natalie has had bowed legs to the point she needed braces to help straighten them out... it was hell! She also has torticollis which means her neck is turned and she looks up with her chin and down her nose... if that makes any sense to you... ug! Then her eyes shake back and forth... so we found out that she has an astigmatism and a nystagmus ... luckily she can see fine.. for now. at one time we were told she may need surgery on her eyes if they get worse but for now they are ok and she sees fine. Also when she was born she had a horrible spot on her head, and a few smaller ones on her right leg, and right side of her chest.... come to find out she has hemangioma birth barks. Random people would ask me what happened to her b/c the one on her bald lil head was puffy and red and veiny looking and I guess to some looked like a huge bump, cut, owie! I used to put hats on her all the time so no one would look at her and feel bad for her or ask me what happened as many times I would be on the verge of tears already. Now if this wasn't all enough imagine doing it all alone, this all happened in the time frame Mike was in bootcamp and then deployed so it was very emotional. Thank Goodness for my Mother!!
And her teeth, how could I forget... she had to have one pulled b/c it was abcessed.. she was only 5 =( she now has a spacer in that spot, had to have cavities filled as well. Then also when she was 5 she had surgery to remove her tonsils and put in ear tubes, she was constantly sick with ear infections... It just seems like her list is so long for such a short time ya know. I feel I had done everything I should have during my pregnancy w/ her. I dont use drugs, I dont drink, I dont smoke... I took my vitamins, went to all my Dr. apts... I just dont get it why all this is on one child.??
She really is my lil trooper for sure since she is older she puts on a brave face and knows what is expected of her and takes every test as well as she can. I am thankful to have such a strong, smart child.
I guess I should mention that regardless of her medical conditions she is so very smart. I knew that from the start! Her teachers have told me in the past and even now that she is doing well, and above majority of kids in her class. I must admit that is always great to hear no matter how many times someone says it LOL.
I just hope that she pulls through this bladder and kidney issue like she has with the rest and we will be able to put it behind her.

Been awhile...

So its been awhile since my last post. Not too much has been happening. breaking our resolution ... hate to say it but we have had a lot of fast food lately =( I doubt my stats have changed, if anything I imagine they have gone up.
I have been so busy with the kids schools and the pets and their appointments and my own dental appointments we haven't had much time to focus on anything else. Natalie is now is dance class, 45min. away so we do that every tue. I started sewing a few items here and there. Need to get some baby shower gifts made up here soon. The cats have been fixed and had all their shots, had another check up yesterday and they are doing well. Anna goes back on the 11th to get stitches out. King thinks he is the man of the house lol. Pudge our dog got sprayed by a skunk last night... puke! Never a dull moment at the Terkawi house rotfl! Kids are as feisty as ever and always on the go wanting to do this, that and the other ;)
I started bleach whitening for my teeth, its really painful. Im surprised at how sensitive my teeth have gotten. Not the funnest thing to do lol but I have been wanting a brighter smile for years... since my first pregnancy that ruined my teeth lol. I look forward to the end result. I also may have to get a root canal soon. Im terrified. I only had my first cavity and filling this past year so this is all new to me and very scary =/ In another effort to take better care of myself I went and chopped off all my hair. Its now chin length. Just had an impulse to let the hair go so now its gone! I guess I am just looking for changes to bring me out of this rut. Hopefully Ill be able to kick the extra weight before summer.

Growing Up.

Last night I put Gavin into Dylan's toddler car bed. Dylan taught Gavin how to climb out of the crib, and tells him to do it all the time now and since they share a room I cant really prevent it =( Sooo I figured it would be safer for him to move to a toddler bed. I mean he is almost 3 lol. I was sad, still am. But he passed out at 6pm last night so easy peasy in the car bed it gave me some hope that he would stay in it the whole night. Too bad Dylan screams in the middle of the night to go potty which woke up Gavin =( So we set up the playpen in the living room and Gavin was happy go lucky and slept there the whole night with no problems. lol I did wake up this morning at 6am to get Natalie ready for school and lil man Gav must have got out of the playpen at some point b/c he wasnt snuggling his Koala anymore, he was loving on the big ole monster truck hahahaha!
Well I am going to try again today, hopefully with more luck than last night. I think its just hard b/c Dylan is so loud =( He cant just get up and go potty he has to scream about it =P ug! Times like this I WISH I were in the old house lol.

2 new family members

So on January 15th we made the decision to get another family pet.. yes I know what your thinking! I'm a crazy woman.... what is wrong with me as if I didn't have enough to deal with 3 small kids and an insane dog who we still have problems with.
Well when I woke up that morning I thought enough was enough!! this is now a few days in a row I have woke up to mouse droppings on our kitchen counters and in our drawers. I even thought I felt one run across my face while I was in bed a few weeks ago but just took it as I was loopy and too tired! Well its been confirmed we cant get around it we have mice! We do live in a really old home so I guess its to be expected, but it wont be tolerated!
So genius me rotfl decided to get a cat. I browsed the classified on craigslist for my area in hopes of maybe finding one that would be an inside outside cat. Well after looking all morning I found one I thought would be ideal, they even referred to this cat as a "MOUSER" I was so excited. and then I got a crappy message back saying that the cat called Cheez-It was gone =( So the hunt was on for another cat. I called my Mom to see if she had any strays out by her home... but that was a lil risky not knowing anything about them, so I turned to Elizabethtown Animal Control and I found 2 Hemmingway Cats that caught my eye. if you don't know these are cats with 6toes lol. I figured meh what the heck I wont commit to them but it couldn't hurt to go see right? well my Mom (cat lover) went with me and the kids. I couldnt decide. I liked one for its long soft fluffy hair and the other for its good behavior through its confinement behind bars. I never planned on taking 2. I only needed one to get the job done but then my Mother egged me on to take them both as they were brother and sister and it wouldnt be right to separate them lol. SO I took em both =D I must say I got VERY lucky they have amazing personalities. The kids carry them around, dress them up, chase them and constantly love them and not once have I seen any aggression from either of the cats. HOWEVER.... they are the smelliest cats I have ever been around in my life... puke! We have bathed them and plan to take them to the vet with out next paycheck to get their anal glands expressed b.c its horrid! they are not fixed but I have scheduled the date for the 28th of this month so who knows maybe the shelter vet can tell me what the cause for their smelliness is lol. When I got them they were names Mac & Roni. but I was having a hard time calling the girl Roni =P so when I seen the kids playing they called the boy "KING" and it stuck! so we are now calling the lil girl Anna, like in the book and Move the Kind and I. so here are our new smelly lil babies King & Anna!

Laundry Back Up!

So we cleaned up the house this past weekend and have lots more to go to Goodwill. Its amazing how much we have already got rid of with the move in Oct/Nov. 09' and yet there is so much more. It feels good to see it go esp. to others who can use it instead of throwing these perfectly good items in the trash.
Only issue now is catching up on laundry. which I am horrible at. It seems like I can never be completely caught up. with a family of 5 its insane! We seems to have clothes that we never wear and they just keep getting tossed on bedroom floors and getting rewashed wasting time and money =/ BUT I must say that as we go through the clothes getting rid of more and more I do notice more of what we need and what we can let go which is nice ;) oh and I can see our floors again, as for the laundry room .... well its a disaster pit haha!
